So this is a thing. A real freakin’ thing that for some reason, I had never heard of in my entire life until I was leaving the hospital. I had to actually sit and watch a video on this and sign off that I did so before I was discharged. The summary of this is sometimes there is literally nothing you can do for a screaming, crying child. Just nothing. It’s a phase in their development that even the bestest of moms can’t avoid. It’s natural. It’s unpreventable. It’s effing brutal. I’ll let you get this book to educate yourself, but it’s absolutely worth the read. It is not only helpful in dealing with this when it happens, but it also is invaluable in terms of acknowledging that it exists, so you’re not surprised when it happens.
